Strategic Plan 2026-2031
Our strategic priorities
The plan focuses on five key areas:
- Consumer engagement and awareness - Empowering patients, families and clinicians through education and support.
- Quality improvement and service excellence - Improving preventive care and health system integration.
- Research and innovation - Using data and research to improve outcomes and drive innovation.
- Evidence-based guidelines and best practice - Maintaining trusted clinical guidance and promoting its adoption nationwide.
- Sustainability and growth - Expanding access and building a strong, sustainable national service.
Together with consumers, families, clinicians, researchers and policymakers, we are working towards a future where everyone living without a functioning spleen can lead a healthy, full life protected from preventable infection.
Looking ahead
By 2031, Spleen Australia aims to be a truly national service, ensuring more Australians living without a functioning spleen have access to the education, support and preventive care they need to stay safe and well.
